How large can my child be and still ride in a Bugaboo?

Every Bugaboo baby stroller is suitable for children from infancy to around 40 lbs. Because of their different frame constructions, each Bugaboo has a slightly different max weight capacity.

By model:

  • Bugaboo Frog: 44 lbs.
  • Bugaboo Cameleon: 40 lbs.
  • Bugaboo Bee: 37.5 lbs.

How much do the Bugaboo Strollers weigh and how large are they?

The Bugaboo Cameleon and Bugaboo Frog are relatively close in weight and size but have some variation in their features. The Frog is Bugaboo's largest baby stroller, and has a higher weight capacity than any other Bugaboo. The travel friendly Bugaboo Bee has the smallest size and weight of any Bugaboo baby stroller.

Bugaboo Cameleon

We want to take the Bugaboo stroller on a plane. How does it travel?

Traveling with your Bugaboo baby stroller can be easy or difficult, depending on your preferred method of transporting the stroller. Taking your Bugaboo through the airport and onto an airplane is not advisable - unless we're talking about the Bugaboo Bee travel stroller. Full-sized Bugaboos like the Cameleon and Frog are way too big to fit into an overhead compartment, or even push down the aisle of an airplane.

One option is to check your Bugaboo Frog or Bugaboo Cameleon at the gate, just make sure you label it and get gate-check tags (one for the chassis and one for the bassinet, if you have one). This way you'll be able to push your Bugaboo stroller through the concourse to the gate. We suggest you remove the wheels and fold the stroller yourself to avoid baggage handler damage. Take them with you and re-attach at the baggage claim and you're good to go.

The best way to transport your Bugaboo stroller by plane is to remove the wheels, fold the stroller up, and pack the stroller in the Bugaboo Transport Bag, a travel bag specifically designed to get your Bugaboo through the airport baggage check and to your destination. The Transport Bag is equipped with a hard outer shell and roller wheels, making it ideal for getting to and through the airport in one piece.

If you are the owner a Bugaboo Bee Stroller, you should have little trouble pushing it and your baby through the airport and gate check, but don't expect to have much room left in the overhead storage compartment once you've packed the folded Bugaboo Bee inside. Its folded dimensions are 17" W x 12" H x 35" L, and the wheels cannot be removed

As with any type of carry on, please check in advance to see that your airline will be able to accommodate your Bugaboo stroller.

Where do I find the Serial Number on my Bugaboo Stroller?

Bugaboo Bee

  • Beneath the seat, above the underseat bag

Cameleon

  • Center metal bar of the chassis

Frog

  • Center metal bar of the chassis

What is the black strap hanging from the handlebar?

This is your wrist tether. It's a safety device to prevent your Bugaboo stroller from getting away from you should you be walking up or down a hill and you lose your grip on the handlebar. It's a great bit of added security if you are pushing your baby through hilly park trails or the along inclined city sidewalks.

Which Bugaboo accessories work with the different Bugaboo strollers?

Most accessories for Bugaboo strollers are model specific, but select Bugaboo Stroller accessories work with the Bugaboo Cameleon, Bee, and Frog - such as the Cup Holder, Universal Parasol, and Transport Bag. What is the difference between the underseat bag, the diaper bag, and the transport bag?

The Under Seat Bag of your Bugaboo baby stroller is a removable storage bag that hangs beneath the seat between the wheel axles. It provides a place for you to store necessities and maybe a new purchase or two while out and about. The Bugaboo Cameleon has the largest underseat basket of any Bugaboo stroller. The under seat bag must be empty or removed for you to fold up your Bugaboo stroller.

Bugaboo Diaper Bags hang from your stroller's handle or over your shoulder. They come in matching colors to your Bugaboo and contain several storage pockets and a changing pad that makes quick-changes a bit more comfortable for your baby. You may store diapers, creams, and powder in the main compartment and keep your baby's drinks the proper temp with the two insulated drink compartments.

The Bugaboo Transport Bag is a specially designed, hard shell bag for transporting your folded Bugaboo baby stroller through an airport or in the trunk of a car. The Transport Bag is the ideal way to check your Bugaboo stroller at the airport, assuring it will arrive at your destination un-damaged. It is equipped with roller wheels for easier transportation through the airport or train station.

How do I attach the rain cover and other weather accessories to my Bugaboo stroller?

Bugaboo rain covers and sun canopies fit around both the Bugaboo bassinet and the seat.

For optimum weather protection, the rain cover should to be attached tightly over your Bugaboo stroller. When installing the rain cover, the top has to be placed over the hood of the stroller first, then the black strip attaches at the foot of the stroller seat. The sides of the rain cover drop down over the edge of the frame - but don't reach the bottom of the frame.

When in place, the carry handle of your stroller should stick out through the slit in the rain cover, allowing you to carry the bassinet or stroller seat while the rain cover is in place. Once properly positioned, pull the cover towards the foot of the stroller and place the pins into the catches at the sides of the frame to complete the installation.

Do the rain cover and sun canopy fit both the bassinet and the Bugaboo stroller seat?

Yes. Every rain cover, sun canopy, and breezy sun canopy attaches to both the stroller seat of your Bugaboo stroller and the Bugaboo Bassinet for that stroller model.

Can you have the seat position assembled at the same time as the bassinet?

Yes. The Bugaboo Bassinet that comes as part of the complete kit uses the same frame as the stroller seat. The bassinet is "assembled" by attaching the fabrics to the stroller seat.

Bugaboo Frog

The one that started it all. The Bugaboo Frog Stroller was the first Bugaboo to hit the market. Introduced in 1999, the world had never seen such a high-tech or high quality baby stroller. Celebrities helped make the Bugaboo Frog even more famous, while thousands of people scrambled to make one of these versatile strollers their very own. Named for its unique frog-like horizontal and vertical suspension that jumps over obstacles in its path, the Bugaboo Frog also offers a variety of features and configurations to help make any outing more comfortable for both baby and parent.

The Bugaboo Frog's design starts with a strong, yet lightweight aluminum chassis. A reversible three-position seat, for children up to 40 pounds, and material to convert the seat to a bassinet for newborns to six months old, or up to 19 pounds, is included and can be attached to the base. For safety, a five-point safety harness system is built into the seat. For added convenience, with special car seat connectors, the Graco SnugRide, or Peg Perego Primo Viaggio infant car seats can also be attached directly to the Bugaboo Frog's base.
