Our Review of the Bugaboo Frog stroller

JPMA CertifiedThe one that started it all. The Bugaboo Frog Stroller is the first Bugaboo to hit the market. Introduced in 1999, the world had never seen such a high-tech or high quality baby stroller. Celebrities helped make the Bugaboo Frog even more famous, while thousands of people scrambled to make one of these versatile strollers their very own. Named for its unique frog-like horizontal and vertical suspension that jumps over obstacles in its path, the Bugaboo Frog also offers a variety of features and configurations to help make any outing more comfortable for both baby and parent.

The Bugaboo Frog?s design starts with a strong, yet lightweight aluminum chassis. A reversible three-position seat, for children up to 40 pounds, and material to convert the seat to a bassinet for newborns to six months old, or up to 19 pounds, is included and can be attached to the base. For safety, a five-point safety harness system is built into the seat. For added convenience, with special car seat connectors, the Graco SnugRide, Graco Infant Safe Seat (Step 1) or Peg Perego Primo Viaggio infant car seats can also be attached directly to the Bugaboo Frog?s base.

Two larger, inflatable wheels provide stability, while two smaller swiveling wheels offer maximum maneuverability for city or country strolling. You can flip the handlebar to lead with the larger wheels on bumpy paths or through fresh snow, or, use the Frog?s two-wheel position to push or pull your Bugaboo Frog across the sand at the beach.

Designed to be totally portable, the Bugaboo Frog folds easily to store in your vehicle?s trunk or take on an airplane. (Please Note: The seat of the Bugaboo Frog MUST be removed before folding. And proper folding of all Bugaboo strollers is a multi-step process.)

After hundreds of customer?s feedback, Bugaboo realized that different parents were looking for different types of features for their baby strollers. So, Bugaboo introduced the Bugaboo Cameleon and the Bugaboo Gecko.

To get the most out of your Bugaboo Frog Stroller, be sure to see all of the accessories that can be used with the Bugaboo Frog.

Bugaboo Frog Colors:
The Frog is available in black, navy, blue, red, grey, aubergine, sand, and orange. The color inside the lining is khaki. However, the grey and orange exteriors come with a navy interior.

Bugaboo Frog - 2 Yrs Later, We STILL Love It!

Absolutely LOVE the Bugaboo Frog stroller. If you do a lot of errand running on foot, this stroller is a lifesaver. I can't imagine shoving over cracked sidewalks, overgrown paths, and crumbly asphalt, with anything else. At the beach, we convert into the admittedly odd 2-wheeled mode, and pull our daughter over the sand with ease. The basket is spacious and sturdy. I've managed to fit a gallon milk jug in there on a grocery run! We've used our Bugaboo Frog for almost 2 and a half years, and it's held up remarkably well despite not-so-gentle treatment. The cover comes off easily and can be thrown in the washer, something that can't be said for the stoller my mother bought, which is gross with food stains and dirt. As some other reviewers have said, this stroller also serves double duty as a bassinet bed when your child is a newborn. The only thing keeping this review from being 5 stars, is the lack of an easy way to lash the two halves of the stroller together when it's folded. This stroller folds into two pieces: the frame, and the seat/bassinet. I don't mind having the two pieces as opposed to one. Having two pieces makes it easier to arrange the stroller in cramped car trunks. The only problem is that having the two pieces makes it almost impossible to carry this stroller folded, if you're alone and also have a baby or small child with you. I wish they had come up with some kind of clasp or strap. It would still be awkward, but as it is, the one thing I can't do with our Bugaboo is take it on a bus or train without another adult to lend a hand. All in all, that is a small concern with what has otherwise been a fantastic stroller, and worth every single penny of its purchase price.

the one and only

My husband and I invested in the Bugaboo Frog for our son in 2005. I have used the stroller for a nice sunday stroll to a jaunt on the beach to a hike up the mountain. The Bugaboo has been the one and only stroller for us and we love it. I think it has paid for itself and more. I know many friends who have more than one stroller and it adds up to be more expensive than owning a Bugaboo. When my son turned 2 the seat broke and I contacted Bugaboo, they sent me a loaner seat while they fixed ours and it was a seamless transaction w/no cost on my end. Also, the tire was punctured so I took it to my local bike shop and had the innertube replaced for $8.00. We are still using the Bugaboo and we love it. I highly recommend this stroller. I don't know about the other styles but we love the Frog!!!

Frog for my 11 month old!

Reviewer: Anonymous , Gulf Coast, Florida Date: May 09, 2008
Well, after reading hundreds of reviews and wondering if it was smart to spend this much on a stroller for an 11 month old...I bit the bullet and ordered the Frog. My one and only regret is that I didn't order it 11 months ago!! This is the best thing on 4 wheels -hands down! And the folding is absolutely nothing, it literally takes me 20 seconds to set up and put away. Even my 10 year old pops it open and sets it up with no problem at all. My baby is big for his age (26lbs and 30 inches at 12 months) and he fits easily into the frog. He LOVES to ride in it and enjoys all the positions! I can't think of a single thing wrong with this stroller I love, love, love it! Oh, and by the way my 10 year old daughter and I put it together all by ourselves in about 20 minutes, the dvd is really helpful and easy to follow, if we can do it ANYONE can! The basket under the seats easily holds my diaper bag, the sunshade is huge and I have already removed the seat and washed it. I was nervous about putting it in the washing machine but it came out perfect and looks brand new! I highly recommend the cup holder that is definitely a must! Oh, and even my husband who thought it was insane to spend this much on a stroller wishes we had bought it when he was an infant! If you are hesitating at all...DON'T - it's the best thing I have ever bought for my kids!

Great looking and wonderful on the bumpy sidewalks in my neighborhood. I love the extended storage down below. A little tricky to fold up but I'm getting the hang of it.

I bought the bugaboo stroller online and 24 hours later it was on my doorstep! They are fast! As for the bugaboo, I dont know yet if it's worth the price...the baby is due in 4 weeks! Easy to assemble and easy to manoeuvre so I think we will be pleased.

After spending hours on the internet researching a thousand different strollers, i was still no nearer to finding the perfect stroller for me - so i went ahead and ordered the bugaboo, and can not be any happier with my purchase. There is nothing negative that i can say about this stroller, i love it and its well worth spending the minimal extra dollars it costs for it.

Love My Bugaboo

I purchased the burgundy/maroon Bugaboo frog a year ago! It's been absolutely great and I loved the bassinet and when I switched to the second stage I loved it even more. It's rides real smooth. I like the fact that my child can face either direction...Best part is that I easily took the stroller apart and washed the fabric in my washing machine! Great buy! My four year old loves to sit in it as well.

Yea.. so at first it seems like a lot of money to spend on a carriage, but LET ME TELL YOU MY FRIENDS it is the most awesome purchase ever!! i live in a neighborhood with pretty bumpy sidewalks and my little prince doesn't feel a thing! the smooth ride and easy maneuverability are really one of a kind. trust me folks this is one investment you will never regret! the folding is not as hard as it seems.. all it takes is a little practice and voila its a breeze! the bassinet is great for sleeping.. napping.. my son loves being rocked to sleep so its the perfect solution. thank you so much bugaboo.. you are the best!
